Chapter 3.4 – Time for a Change

Ethan’s Point of View

9 gruesome months had passed, and Jayla welcomed our little boy into the world. She had such a tough pregnancy with him, I was afraid any second she would just keel over and die. It scared the crap out of me at times, when she would be clenched over in pain for hours, only to find it was a false alarm. It was a giant burden off my shoulders, when our little 7 lb, 6 oz , Andrew Terrey arrived. He looked so much like Jayla’s late father. It kind of made her teary eyed just to look at him, only to see her fathers smile in return. Jayla had one single picture of her father that she kept in a small frame, and it always stayed in her purse. I had to admit, even though my son had my nose, he really did look like his grandfather. It’s ashame he will never get to meet him.

Another thing about now having Andy, was the fact that Kitty liked to cling to mine and Jayla’s side. She said she needed all the practice she could get, considering she was pretty close to having her baby as well.

“Just one more time.” she begged “I promise I’ll lay him dow once I practice burping again.”

I looked at her, and glared “Kitty! No! My son needs to get into a sleep routine and your going to ruin all of our hard work we’ve put into it.”

“Fine.” she whimpered, before dragging herself out of my room. Her hormones are so off the charts, it’s scary at times.

“Good night little man. Sleep well. Daddy and mommy love you so much.” I smiled, kissing his small little head, watching him drift off into a deep sleep.

Even though I loved my baby, and he meant more than anything in the entire world to me, it was tough trying to raise him, while I was trying to finish up with school. It seemed the more time that went on, the harder it became to focus. Numerous times the principle called home to tell my parents, I had fallen asleep in class again, or was late with yet another assignment. I tried. I really did. But with the baby, and my new job at the salon. Uggghh, talk about hard work.

I wasn’t the only one though. Jayla had her hands full at the house. She and my mom made a deal, that she would pay her each week to keep the house intact. Cleaning, laundry, going grocery shopping here and there. Just the usual stuff. It was really stressful on Jay at times, and I pleaded with my mom to take it easy on her. She would always tell me “Out in the real world, people don’t just take it easy on you because you ask them too.” I guess she was right. This would help me and Jayla in the long run.

At least we still got to attend our prom. It was really a night to remember. I can’t believe that me and Jay got elected prom king and queen! All this time I thought people were hating on us, for being teen parent’s but in reality they sorta looked up to us for all our hard effort we made to make it work out.

Cale’s Point of View

God, everything was so frustrating! Now that I was going to be a father, I REALLY needed to find a job! I hated that I was still out of work. Why were they making it so freaking hard on me. I’ve never been rejected so many times in my entire life. Kitty would always tell me everything was alright, and that we would make it through. But as her stomach grew larger, my patience grew thin. I needed a job!

After mulling it over in my head over and over, what I was going to do, my phone rang. “Oh great…” I sighed “Who is it now?”

I didn’t even glance at the ID, I just pressed talk and pressed the phone to my ear “Hello?”

“Yes, is this Mr. Terrey?” the voice asked from the other side of the line.

“Yea, can I ask who’s calling?”

“I’m with Justice Building Coporation. You put in an applacation about 3 weeks ago for a position?”

I nodded my head “Yes I did.”

“Well… I talked it over with my boss, and he thinks your perfect for the job. I want you too meet up with me on saturday, to talk about where your going to be working at.” the woman replied, and I could hear her smiling.

“I got the JOB!? … I mean, yes, yea, sure! I’ll meet with you on saturday! Just tell me the address, and I’ll be there!” I was so excited, I couldn’t even contain it! My voice was jittery, and a giant grin spread ear to ear. I could so do this job! Architercture? I’m amazing at math!

“Yes you got the job. I’ll call you with the information sometime before the end of the week. Thank you Mr. Terrey and I wish you luck.” *click*

I can’t wait to tell Kitty!

She was outside, sitting in the grass when I got the call. When I saw her, a sense of concern washed over me. I sat next to her, and then kissed her cheek “What’s wrong sweetie?”

She looked down and sighed “I… I just don’t know if I’m ready to be a mother yet. What if I’m no good?”

I laughed. “Kitty, your going to make a wonderful mother. You such a caring and devoted person. Your heart is so big, I don’t know if it will ever run out of love. Our child will be so smothered, they’ll hate it!”

She chuckled at my remark, before wrapping her arm around me. “You always know how to make me smile Cale. I guess it’s why I love you so much.”

“Well, I love it when your happy. And there’s really only two ways I know how to do that. One is making you smile, and two… well.. I won’t say what it is out loud, because I have to be careful of little ears listening in.” I laughed, before rubbing her belly.

“Oh shut up Cale.” she giggled, then smacked my arm. “Jr. can’t hear anything. My belly is sound proof.”

“Well alright then. But, I know your ears aren’t sound proof. Lean in closer, I need to tell you something.” I smirked, and she cast me a glare.

“Cale, I’m really not in the mood for one of your dirty jokes.” she stated, rolling her eyes.

“Oh Kitty come on.” I laughed “I’m not a pervert! I actually want to tell you something.”

“Fine…” she sighed, then leaned into me “What is it?”

I got a Job, and I start on saturday.” I whisperd, and she pulled back with her mouth hung open.

“NO WAY!” she cheered, before tackling me on the grass and kissing me all over. Such a tease…

And so to help me out with thus job, I took up painting. Alright, so Kitty made me. She said it would “help enhance my abilties as a professional architect.” Yea, alright… if she says so.

I had to listen to her though, no matter her demand. I mean, how could I refuse? The way she would smile at me, then rub our growing little bump… My heart melted every time. She had a very big advantage, and she knew it by the way she looked at me. With her smirks, and giggles. I can’t help that I’m a softy!

I could honestly say that Saturday didn’t arrive fast enough! I was waiting eagerly the entire week for the 2nd phone call. I got it on thurday as to where I was to meet, and at that point I was offically pumped! I felt like I could take on the world.

That was… until I arrived at my “work.”

I pulled up infront of the house, and looked at it in horror. It was falling apart, and there was mold growing on the doors! I thought maybe that it was just the outside that needed a paint job, and some new windows… boy was I wrong! I walked inside the “house” and my mouth dropped open. The place was HORRIBLE! When I thought it couldn’t get any worse, there was that god awful smell… I literally almost threw up.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Terrey. I know the place is in need of repairs. A… lot of repairs.” she sighed, then shook her head. “Please have a seat, so we can discuss your assignment.”

For some reason, I didn’t like where this was going.

I slid out the chair slowly, and we both cringed at the rusty metal scraping against the old floor boards. I hesitated A LOT, if I should actually sit in the chair or not. It looked older than me, I swear it.

“Please just sit. The chair isn’t going to bite you.” she grummbled, before rubbing her temples.

“How much you wanna bet?” I laughed, before painfully sitting down in the disgusting chair. At this point I already wanted to know when we were leaving.

“Alright” she exclaimed, clasping her hands together “Let’s get down to buisness. – I want you to take a good look around, and tell me what you see.”

“Judeging by the smell of decaying bodies, the rusted urinal that’s covered in piss and the fact I want to throw up over and over? I would say when I look around I see a crap hole.” I know I was being an jerk, but my god was I uncomfortable in that place! I think I better shut up though, if I still want to keep my job. It’s a good thing Rachel -which I learned was her name – had a sense of humor.

“Right now? Yea I agree. But see the bigger picture, what do you think we… I mean YOU could turn this place into?” she asked, placing a hand on her chin and stroked it.

“Wait..” I stated, staring at her “You want ME to fix this place? As in… come here everyday, and smell this smell, and taste this poisonous air?

She laughed. “We both know you need the money. You said something about your girlfriend being pregnant, didn’t you?” She had me at that. My lips sealed shut, and I stopped complaining. She was right… my baby needed an income! Even if I died… -literally- trying to get it.

She stood from her chair, and I did the same. “Look…” she sighed “I know it’s not the nicest of buildings, but I really think you could turn this into a beautiful home. You will get paid a VERY good sum of money, if you accept this job. A lot of our workers turned it down the second they saw it. You actually went inside the house.”

“Yea… I guess I really am desperate.” We both laughed.

“Alright so are you in, or what?” she smiled, waiting for my reply.

“Yea I’m in… on one condition though.” I grinned.

“Name it.”

“I chose the tenants that live here, when I’m finished.” I stated, with a stern look. I wasn’t backing away from this. It was either she agreed, or this building could be the home for abandoned rats and roaches.

“Deal.” she smiled and shook my hand. Oh yea… I had some very big plans for this house.

I walked through the front door with a pep in my step, and a smile on my face. Everyone had went out for the afternoon, leaving me and my beautiful girlfriend alone. I had some really nice plans for us, but I think our little baby had… a different idea.

I dropped my keys on the floor when I heard the scream of pain coming from the other room. “CAAAALE!” she breathed “The baby- It’s… the baby!”

I rushed in, and went to where she was bent over on the floor. Blood was trickling down her left leg, and her water had already broke. “Oh god… I’ll call Cody!” I screeched trying to run towards my cellphone. She grabbed my leg and I tripped to the floor.

“NO! Just get me to a hospital…. NOW!” she raged, clenching her side once again. I wanted my father to be here, considering he’s a doctor and all… but- I seriously had no time!

We arrived at the hospital at 12:30 pm, and it was nearly 3:36am when Kitty was finally ready to push. During the previous hours Cody had to keep stepping outside into the cool summer breeze, to try and wake himself up. He did eventually get the call when we arrived, and he’s been with us ever since. Kitty didn’t want him to deliver the baby, but since he’s the only one able to do it at this time at night, she agreed. She just wanted it out! As she said to me over 100 times… trust me, I wanted it out too! My ear felt like it was on fire from the screams and my hand was losing circulation.

(another boy.. seriously, just… wow.)

Finally after 15 hours of labor, we welcomed our little boy into the world. He weighed 8 lbs, 2 oz. We had a hard time deciding names, since neither of could think straight after all that stress we went through. Eventually time ticked away, and it drew near to the day of their release, but yet our son had no name. The nurse walked in and asked us what to write on the birth cirtificate, and that’s when Kitty asked “What’s you name?” The nurse answered, “Fraser.” Kitty smiled and looked over at me, “Well then, I want to call him… Fraser. Fraser Terrey.” The nurse blushed red, and smiled wide as he wrote it down. In all honesty… I really liked the name. It was uncommon, and perfect for our little trooper.

Months passed by in a flash, and my work took up so much of my time. I hated leaving Kitty to do most of the work, but I had no choice! This house was a huge take on me, considering I was doing it alone… but the outcome would amazing. I just knew it would.

Good morning, Fray.” I whispered, into the still silence of the house “Daddy is heading off to work right now. You be good for mommy, and let her sleep just a few hours more, alright?” I kissed his tiny little head, before walking over to Kitty.

I love you, beautiful. Sleep tight, and I’ll be home soon.”

Kitty’s Point of View

I’ll admit. It was pretty tough now that Cale was working a full time job (sometimes over-time) but it was just how it had to be. He was bringing in very good money, and I just couldn’t deny him that. He loved what he was doing, and I was so proud of him. I just wish he could be home more. He’s missing a lot of Fray’s special moments.

But with that aside, it was already Andrew’s first birthday! I just couldn’t believe how fast that little baby had grown. It felt like only yesterday that Jayla was growing beautifully and carrying him in her stomach! But I guess she can say the same thing for me… Fray is already 4 1/2 months old. Time really does fly.

“Happy Birthday Andrew.”

I know one of his traits is Athletic… but I can’t remember the other. He really does look like Jayla’s late father. He has his hair color and everything! But what I’m really happy about it that fact that he has Flynn’s eyes! They still live on! 🙂

Such a little cutie pie! ❤

Bazel’s Point of View

It had been an extremely long day at the hospital. Paients running through the halls and so many babies being born! I couldn’t take all the stress. I was just so glad to finally come home to my loving family, and go to bed. Well… that’s what I wanted anyway. The second I walked into the door, the phone on the wall started to ring.

“Who in the world is that?”

“Hello?” I answere groggily. I was just so tired.

“Bay? It’s Nate.” he sighed. Nate was a good friend of mine, who was a paramedic.

“What’s up Nate?” I half smiled.

“I’m afraid I have some bad news… We got a call from your mother’s house. She had a stroke.” My heart sunk to my stomach, and beads of sweat formed on my head.

“Is… she Ok?”

“I wish there was an easier way to tell you this… I’m so sorry Bazel. She didn’t make it.” he sighed into the phone. I was speechless, I wanted to talk but nothing came out. Steams of hot tears flowed down my cheeks, and my throat closed up.

“Bazel? I know… it’s really hard to take it. I really am sorry. I would really love to talk with you, or maybe come over… but I’m so busy. I feel terrible Bay, I really do. I got to go, I’ll see you tomorrow sweetie.” *click*

My life is over. I don’t even want to live anymore. First my father, now my mom? I give up. I just… can’t do this anymore. I’ve been through so much pain already. I’m done.

Thanks for reading!

So sad to hear Yoki died 😦 My heart literally sank. Oh and thank you Emy for the name suggestion. It’s adorable ❤

Poor Bazel 😦 But (disney quote) IT’S THE CIRCLE OF LIIIIFE! I KNOW why Cale said that to that woman, he wants a good place for E and Jayla :P. Andrews a cutie. Cant wait to see Fraser grown up 🙂

    And I THINK first comment?

    • spongeb0berz says:

Yup your first comment. It’s true, it really is the circle of life, but it’s really sad to see her go 😦 She was the founder after all. That’s the hardest death of all. Plus Flynn’s was pretty tough too 😦 Espically on Bazel. I’m not telling 😉 You’ll see next chapter.

  2. sims2014 says:

I think you might be aware of my love for that feisty founder^^ Noooo, I feel like crying now. And the moment I typed that, wham. My eyes begin to water…
On happier notes, yay for babies xD Although seriously, Kitty and Jayla need to get some watermelon into their diets. *nudge nudge wink wink* Although Andrew is adorable, even if he isn’t an Andrea(; and I really hope Fray has pink hair. You have no idea how much I want you to have a pink heiress.. ^_^
r.i.p Yoki!! <33 *heads off to watch 'Thank You For Loving Me' for closure* x

    • spongeb0berz says:

Awww 😦 Yea I miss her so much now. I knew how much you loved her 😦 I want a GIRL! xD.

It’s funny because Bazel had 3 boys and Alana had 3 girls XD I crack up everytime I see it. Poor Milo. No son for him.

  5. jaec52609 says:

no not yoki shes pose 2 live 4ever…well i hope she wouldve :.(

  6. wolfmania98 says:

I just realised something REALLY sad…. Yoki did have 2 great-grand children. If she would have come over, she could’ve met them. She never met them 😦

  7. sariechiny says:

I can’t believe that Yoki died! ): She was a great founder!
    RIP Yoki Terrey
Aww…the boys are both so cute! Wow, little Andy sure does look like his grand-dad. Well, I know this because he didn’t look like either Jayla or Ethan, so I’m guessing it’s Jayla’s dad.
Can’t wait to see what Fraser looks like! ❤
Also can't wait for more girls!

  8. Emy says:

YAY FOR FRASER!!! ❤ ❤ I love that name. ❤

    Awww, Yoki. 😦 😦 That's so sad.

Andrew's adorable. And haha, Cale, maybe you should come and see Gabe's house and try and fix that up for him too. 😉 😉

This was a nice calm chapter. Ethan is turning out to be such a good daddy, and I love their prom photo! 😀

    • spongeb0berz says:

Yes it was a calm chapter, for me anyways. Besides the fact that Yoki died :/ Teehee, the moment you said it I was all “OMG cuteness <3" I LOVE that name :). Yah know, I was thinking about your story the whole time XD. (which I am like your no. 1 fan too btw. Justsaying ;P) You guys will see what I have up my sleeve. Even I like the idea I had 😉

      • Emy says:

Yay, I like fans. 😀 😀 I have one more scene to shoot for the new chapter but my romantic interactions seem broken. :/ Just installing Twallan’s ErrorTrap to see if that fixes it. *crosses fingers*

Looking forward to seeing what you’ve come up with. 😉

      • spongeb0berz says:

😀 ❤ You have to have fans were you write an AMAZING legacy like that! haha. D: Really? It seems like I can't click around with some of my sims. Like Slaughter and Bryce have no interactions with each other and niether do there kids. They interact with other people, but.. not with each other.

      • Emy says:

It seems it’s only teen-adult interactions that have problems for me. I’m annoyed. I need one sceeene.

      • spongeb0berz says:

I’m mad too. I tried fixing it, but it’s not working! It keeps saying Script error for the woohooer…. aarrgg

      • Emy says:

Finally got the scene. For some reason it was working in my non-staging file, but not when I started a new game with the two sims in question. It was only broken between the two sims, too. I added a Lyric to the household and he could get it on with the teen just fine. XD XD

      • spongeb0berz says:

LMAO XD “He could get it on with the Teen”

Poor Lyric. Emy making him do the naughty with a minor 😛

  9. Jedidiah says:

Caught up… and Nooooo Yoki!!!! I’m gonna miss her. I really loved her. She had such a tough road with slimy guys, and non honest guys, and an ex-wife….. awwww….

But how cute is Andrew???? And Cale and Kitty are so perfect for each other. Can’t wait to see little Fraser!

  10. marissa3 says:

    Yoki! 😦
Another great chapter, I’m going to save the long comments till I’ve caught up, geez I have a long way to go! Excited to read though x

  11. I look at this chapter now.
And then I look at the last chapter of Gen. 4.
